My 66 Galaxie has the original paint. I know this without a doubt. Its still in outstanding condition even though it has not been garage kept, covered, or waxed in 10 years. The black paint has a beautiful gloss. I don't want to repaint the whole car over a few dings and scuffs. I have some areas where I have rubbed through the paint on the hood center crease and one of the fender edges. I am wondering if I could do some spot repairs but wonder the best way to go about it. Its simple black so matching colors should not be an issue, right?
Also, what is safe to buff with? If I wanted to buff out a scuff or other spot, what type of compound should I use? Is Mequire's No 7 too harsh? Suggestions?
