yes....to have to turn on 2 separate switches together to flow current.

Relays are made double throw double pole. Why use two if you can get one that does the work of two.

You can hook up 2 or more relays using the same switch wired to positive or ground. Your power out of the relay just goes to what ever you want to turn on with the same switch.

This is common on dual electric fans along with a transmission cooler fan using 3 relays from the same switch.

Most of the off road race vehicles have multiple relays wired together for the lights, and multiple relays for the electric fans for the engine, trans, oil, etc., coolers.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish. If you mean run two relays off the same switch this is very easy. I dont know why you would actually want two in series. A little more info please

if it's a GM, then there is an unfused ignition assessory spade terminal you can plug in to, you could just use that, or trigger the relays with it

Forums are for people WHO ARE LEARNING, for asking people with experience these questions and HOPEFULLY receiving some help. If you are just going to bash a thread why even post?? Do you mean in a series or parallel? I can't see any reason to use two in a series but if you want to double the current carrying capacity, for instance use two 30 AMP to carry 50 AMPs or so, you can do that by using two parallel and in fact some electric fans have this set-up, I think Painless wiring has one like that.

 

thanks for that oldred.....I actualy needed this a few weeks ago and had to go with a expensive 100 amp unit for a alt shutdown relay....but about 4 little 30 amps would have worked just as well.....

What kind of vehicle uses a 100 amp alt shutdown relay? This kind of relay would half to have at least 6 gauge wires in and out of it. Auto shutdown relays on the other hand, use smaller gauge wires and shut down the fuel pump, ignition, and fuel injectors. Never ever are they rated at 100 amp.

 

was not on a vehicle.....was on a loader.

the alt was causing feedback into the system and with the wiring cobbled up as it was. I simply installed a shutdown relay for the alt.....

not the one I used but similar.....works the opposite of the relay on the fender.

There is no way you could use, or wire, 4 small relays to replace something like that. And you have the audacity to "knock down" sexxypizzaman's post's. :spank:
