Put it in the drivers side head where it was from the factory.

I took a picture of the drivers side, is this plug where it should go?

 

Sure looks like it. Between 1 and 3? I just installed a new fan on mine and used the head location since the intake location is hooked to my gauges.

Those plugs can be hard to get out. Sometimes you need a little heat. Hard on your paint job.

I put the fan sensor in the head. Works great.

 

The sending unit for my dash gauge was in the driver’s side head, so when I had a mechanical temp gauge I tried both the passenger side head and the fitting in the intake manifold. There was minimal difference in the temp measurement between locations.

To get the block plug out I first cleaned out the fitting and then used a hammer to drive in a hex/Allen wrench and make sure it was seated. Then I continued to push the bit in, and used another wrench to turn the Allen wrench and get leverage.
